Built for the ride. Inspired by classic design.

I’m both curious about electric motorcycles and very much drawn to the design of the Tarform Luna – an unusually striking combination of classic motorbike aesthetics in a modern, electric guise. Ahead of the test, I had no particular expectations, simply an open and curious mindset towards what the motorcycle of the future might offer.

In person, the Tarform Luna feels both solid and easy to ride – almost as if it’s inviting you to set off on an adventure straight away. Sitting on it, the feeling is very reminiscent of a scrambler or café racer. The design is truly something special – every small detail has been carefully considered. The choice of materials, the finish, and the lines all exude quality and a passion for craftsmanship.

Riding Experience

Acceleration and power are impressive – the Tarform swiftly rockets up to 100 km/h, and the electric motor offers immediate response.

The balance and weight distribution are excellent overall, and the bike feels stable at both low and high speeds. This is a machine that’s equally at home in urban traffic and on country roads.
Like all scramblers and café racers, it might not be the most comfortable choice for long motorway journeys, but it certainly holds its own on a winding road, feeling both nimble and responsive. It’s surprisingly easy to adapt to seamless acceleration without the need to think about clutch control.

Equipped with the Sweep Flawless jacket, Sweep Trixie jeans, Misty boots from Falco, and gloves from Sweep, the ride on the Tarform Luna felt comfortable, safe, and stylish throughout the test.

The first generation of Tarform Luna, called the Founder Edition, was launched at a starting price of €44,000 and is exclusively tailored to each customer.
54 units produced, all hand-assembled in Brooklyn.
Each model is built specifically for its owner, from the choice of materials to the colour and details such as spoked wheels.
All components are individually numbered, making each motorcycle unique – like a bespoke suit.
The “tank body” is crafted from hand-formed aluminium but is also available in carbon fibre or flax fibre.

Technology and Features
The display and instrumentation are minimalist and intuitive, contributing to a simple and focused riding experience. Changing riding modes is smooth and does not require diving into complicated menus – you can even switch modes on the go, provided you’re not accelerating at the time.

Although it’s an electric bike, the Tarform is not completely silent. Instead, the motor is used almost like an instrument, generating a unique sound that enhances the riding experience and changes character depending on the selected riding mode.

Key facts
0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
67 hp / 50 kW
The motor offers three torque modes:
• City – 50%
• Cruise – 75%
• Cheetah – 100%

Under mixed riding conditions, you can expect a range of around 160 km on a single charge, which is perfectly respectable for a bike of this type.
Charging time is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours using a standard 220V outlet.

Build quality and ergonomics

The build quality is robust and meticulously thought out – every detail has been given the attention and care it deserves. The riding position is comfortable, reminiscent of a classic scrambler.
The controls are exactly where you expect them to be, and the brakes feel reassuring and effective.

Summary

What surprised me most was definitely the sound – that an electric bike could feel so alive and have such a distinctive character was not something I had anticipated.
Its greatest strengths clearly lie in the design, build quality, and a riding experience that balances modern technology with classic motorcycle spirit.

I could recommend the Tarform Luna to anyone seeking an electric motorcycle with soul – someone who wants something different, beautiful, and who is willing to pay a little extra for a well-crafted, unique product.

I’m very much looking forward to their next model – the Vera – which we hopefully will see on the European market in the not-too-distant future at a more accessible price.
