100 years of Moto Guzzi: Factory rebuild underway

The project represents more than an upgrade to manufacturing. Once finished, the factory will feature a showroom for the latest models, museum spaces telling the story of Moto Guzzi, a café and new areas for visitors. New production lines are already in operation, while the wider redevelopment continues. The ambition is to create a place where the brand’s heritage meets the future – and where both motorcyclists and visitors without any biking background can share the experience.

Mandello del Lario has long been a natural meeting point for Moto Guzzi fans, and the factory has played a central role in the brand’s identity. With this investment, the company aims to further strengthen the site’s significance – not only as a production facility, but also as a destination for anyone wishing to understand what Moto Guzzi stands for.

The design of the new redevelopment is led by Greg Lynn – an internationally recognised architect and also CEO of Piaggio Fast Forward, Piaggio Group’s innovation centre in Boston. He has been named by Time magazine as one of the world’s most innovative people and listed by Forbes among the most influential living architects.

“I have visited many of the world’s leading companies in aeronautics, automotive, shipping, design, packaging and robotics – but never before a factory in such a spectacular setting. Here, between the lake and the mountains, century-old buildings are filled with the very latest technology.”
