2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2
Both versions are powered by Ducati’s 890 cc V-twin, the same engine used in the Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2, Multistrada V2 and Monster. The chassis has been completely redesigned, while the styling draws clear inspiration from the original Hypermotard 1100. According to Ducati, the goal was to modernise the concept without losing the minimalist, supermoto-inspired attitude that made the model an icon.
- Hypermotard V2 – the standard model, is equipped with fully adjustable Kayaba suspension, Brembo M4.32 brakes and cast aluminium wheels.
- Hypermotard V2 SP – the top-spec version, features Öhlins suspension (NIX30/STX46), Brembo M50 calipers, forged aluminium wheels, and a special anniversary livery celebrating 20 years since the first Hypermotard concept.
The new generation builds on the raw supermoto character of its predecessor but in a lighter and more sophisticated construction. The cast aluminium monocoque frame also functions as an airbox, while the engine acts as a stressed member. A steel subframe recalls the original, and the twin-sided aluminium swingarm is inspired by the Panigale V4. In total, the new structure is around 13 kilograms lighter than the outgoing Hypermotard 950.
Suspension and chassis
The standard version uses a fully adjustable Kayaba fork (Ø46 mm) and a Kayaba rear shock with adjustable preload and rebound.
The SP version upgrades to an Öhlins NIX30 fork (Ø48 mm) and an Öhlins STX46 shock, both fully adjustable.
Both models feature an aluminium swingarm and a steel subframe, combining low weight with high rigidity. The 17-inch wheels are identical in size, but the SP’s forged aluminium rims save roughly 1.5 kg of unsprung mass.
Brakes and tyres
The standard model is fitted with Brembo M4.32 radial-mount four-piston calipers and dual 320 mm discs at the front, while the SP benefits from Brembo M50 calipers. At the rear is a 245 mm disc with a twin-piston caliper.
Both versions come fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres – 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear – while the SP can also be equipped with Pirelli Diablo Superbike slicks for track use.
Electronics and riding modes
The Hypermotard V2 features Ducati’s latest six-axis IMU, managing a comprehensive suite of electronic rider aids:
- Cornering ABS (four levels)
- Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
- Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)
- Engine Brake Control (EBC)
Four riding modes – Race, Sport, Road and Wet – tailor the engine response and electronic intervention. Instrumentation is handled by a 5-inch TFT display offering three layouts: Road, Road Pro and Track.
With Cornering ABS set to level 2, the Slide by Brake function is activated, allowing controlled rear-wheel drift when entering corners.
The V2 SP also adds Launch Control and a pit-lane limiter for advanced track use.
Design and ergonomics
The design pays homage to the first Hypermotard from 2005, featuring a twin-wing fuel tank, twin under-seat exhausts, slim side panels and a floating rear light.
A new LED headlight with twin daytime running lights gives the bike a distinctive face, while the tall, wide-bar riding position remains quintessentially supermoto. The seat is 880 mm high on both versions, with a lower seat option available. Ducati has also refined the geometry to reduce ground clearance without sacrificing lean-angle capability.
Availability
The 2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 will be offered in Ducati Red, while the V2 SP comes in an exclusive 20th-anniversary livery. Both models are expected to reach European dealers in April 2026.april 2026.
