WRWR is back – connecting women riders globally

The global relay for female motorcyclists, Women Riders World Relay (WRWR), is making a comeback – but this time in a whole new format. With a digital platform and brand-new app, WRWR aims to connect riders across the world, without them needing to leave their local area.

In 2019, WRWR made history when women from over 100 countries took part in a physical relay around the globe, with the baton literally being passed from country to country. Now, founder Hayley Bell and the team are taking the next step – a virtual global relay starting on 1 January 2026 and running for a full year.

“We wanted to create something that’s accessible to everyone, no matter where you live or what kind of bike you ride,” says Bell.

How it works

At the heart of the movement is the new WRWR app, launching in September 2025. The app will serve as a hub for female riders of all experience levels around the world. Through the app, users can:

Through the app, users can:
  • Receive and pass on a digital relay baton
  • Earn points by riding, maintaining their bike or learning new skills
  • Join challenges and collect badges
  • Create a personal “garage profile”
  • Find inspiration and practical tips
  • Share experiences and photos
  • Take part in local or global events
  • Feel part of something bigger
WRWR is generating strong interest in Sweden.

And the best part? It’s completely free.

A world in motion – together

WRWR has already attracted over 70 female ambassadors who will represent their countries throughout the coming year, and more are in the pipe. The app will also display real-time stats, so participants can follow the baton’s journey around the world.

But this isn’t just about riding bikes. WRWR also wants to show the motorcycle industry just how big, active and influential the female riding community truly is. By collecting and showcasing data, they hope to influence everything from gear design to marketing and representation.

“We want to be able to go to manufacturers and say, ‘A million women took part,’ show them how active we are, that we are the market they want – and how to cater to us.”
