2026 Honda CB1000F

Honda rekindles the spirit of the 1980s with the new CB1000F – a roadster that combines the design language of classic CB models with modern electronics and an updated chassis.

The riding position is more upright than on the CB1000 Hornet, thanks to higher and closer handlebars and footpegs positioned slightly further forward. The rider also sits lower, with a seat height of 795 mm compared with the Hornet’s 810 mm, while the pillion benefits from a more relaxed seating position.

Just like the CBs of the 1980s, the CB1000F features a single round headlamp – here accompanied by twin horns tuned to different frequencies – and Honda offers a colour-matched headlight cowl either as an accessory or as part of the Sports Pack.

Engine with mid-range focus

Powering the CB1000F is a 1,000 cc inline-four derived from the 2017 CBR1000RR. Unlike the Hornet, this version is tuned for stronger low- and mid-range performance, with longer intake funnels (140 mm), revised valves and a redesigned airbox. The result is 122 hp at 9,000 rpm and 103 Nm at 8,000 rpm, delivered through a 4–2–1 exhaust system with a retro-inspired megaphone-style silencer.

Transmission and riding characteristics

The gearbox features shorter first and second gears for improved low-speed response, while gears three to six are longer for relaxed cruising. An assist/slipper clutch is fitted as standard, and a bidirectional quickshifter is available either separately or as part of the Sports Pack.

Modern electronics

Despite its retro appearance, the CB1000F is equipped with thoroughly modern electronics, including ride-by-wire throttle, a six-axis IMU, riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain and two custom settings), adjustable power delivery, engine braking and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
All functions are managed via a 5-inch full-colour TFT display with backlit controls on the left handlebar. Honda RoadSync enables smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation and audio through Bluetooth. Keyless ignition is standard, though a traditional key is still used for the seat and fuel cap.

Chassis, suspension and brakes

The frame remains a steel twin-spar (diamond) design carried over from the Hornet, but the subframe is new to suit the flatter tail section. Suspension is provided by a fully adjustable 41 mm Showa SFF-BP fork at the front and a fully adjustable pressurised single-tube Showa shock at the rear.
Braking is handled by radial-mounted four-piston callipers with 310 mm dual discs up front, and a 240 mm disc at the rear – with cornering ABS as standard.
Tyres are 120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear.

Colours and accessory packs

The CB1000F will be available in Wolf Silver Metallic with either blue or grey stripes, as well as Graphite Black. In addition to the Sports Pack, Honda offers a Comfort Pack (high windscreen, deflectors, auxiliary lights, more comfortable seat) and a Travel Pack (tank bag and soft panniers).
