Meeting point for Adventure

The ADV segment is growing. You can see it on the roads, in the sales figures — and at events like the Adventure Motorcycle Expo, which in April brought together riders, manufacturers and dreamers under one roof for the second year running.

Around 2,000 visitors made their way there over the weekend — from Sweden and across Europe. Following last year’s successful debut, organisers Petra and Kristian Ölvestad of Backroads Nordic Events had moved the expo to a larger venue, and it proved necessary. The segment is growing, and so is the interest.

All about Bikes was on site over the weekend — and it was hard not to feel inspired.

The range on offer was extensive. Motorcycle manufacturers alongside accessory brands, tour operators, camping gear, luggage systems and personal protective equipment.

Everything from twinpegs to tents. The atmosphere had that special quality that only emerges when enough like-minded people gather in one place.

On stage, visitors could, among other things, follow Stewe’s adventures from the Africa Eco Race.

Stewe shares the story of his adventure.
Göran at Aventour didn’t just showcase camping gear, but also helmets and luggage systems at his stand.
Caroline Pettersson is active within FMCK, and was one of the exhibitors over the weekend.
Marie Pettersson and Jenni Christiansson were pleased with the expo.
Annie Norell and Lars Klingbo from Eezer talk about motorcycle ambulances in Africa..
Annelie Törnqvist and Anna Thoresson were pleased with their visit to the expo.
Camping gear were tested.

Stewe didn’t just take part in the rally itself — he rode all the way from Sweden to the start, completed the rally, and then rode back home to Sweden after the finish. But for most, the weekend was about something simpler — and perhaps more important. Catching up with people you haven’t seen in a while. Running into a friend at a stand, stopping for a chat.

In just two years, Adventure Motorcycle Expo has secured its place on the Swedish motorcycling calendar.

See you next year.
