Test ride of the Rieju Aventura Rally 307
In early May, we took a Rieju Aventura Rally 307 to the Västergötland region to explore the roads around Skövde and parts of the Swedish Armed Forces’ training grounds. Spring delivered plenty of sunshine, although temperatures remained somewhat chilly.
The Aventura Rally 307 makes a positive impression from the outset. Its 293 cc engine may appear modest on paper, but it delivers surprisingly strong low-end torque. On the minor roads between Skultorp and Värsås, we were able to maintain a steady pace without the engine ever feeling strained. Frequent gear changes were required to keep the momentum up, but the six-speed gearbox is smooth and easy to operate.
Off-Road sections on the training grounds

Once we turned onto the gravel tracks of the training area, the suspension really came into its own.
The long suspension travel (235 mm front and rear) and full adjustability provided ample reserve when tackling ruts, dips and abrupt changes in elevation.
The front forks effectively absorbed the vibrations from corrugated gravel surfaces, while the progressive rear shock kept the rear wheel tracking accurately when the terrain became uneven.Another advantage is the bike’s low dry weight. Although the 890 mm seat height may feel tall for shorter riders, the motorcycle remains remarkably manageable thanks to its weight of just 137 kg. On narrow gravel roads, changing lines and reacting to sudden shifts in terrain could be done with ease and confidence.
Braking performance and control
On the winding country roads between Skultorp and Värsås, it quickly became apparent that the generously sized front brake delivers strong stopping power without feeling excessive. The dual-channel ABS system can be switched off, which we did on the gravel sections of the training grounds to gain maximum control over the bike.
Instrumentation and navigation
To find our way through the forest roads around Skövde, we relied on the vertically mounted 7-inch display featuring Mirror Link connectivity. It made smartphone navigation easy to mirror and provided a clear map display, even in bright sunlight. We also appreciated the display’s ambient temperature readout, a particularly useful feature for spring riding.
Long range for extended adventures
One of the Aventura Rally 307’s strongest assets is its 21-litre fuel tank. Even with a riding style that alternated between relaxed road cruising and more spirited off-road exploration, the fuel gauge dropped only gradually. Rieju claims a range of between 400 and 500 kilometres on a single tank, and throughout our full-day adventure we never experienced any range anxiety.
Verdict
Our test ride around Skövde demonstrated that the Rieju Aventura Rally 307 is far more than just an attractive newcomer. It feels light, responsive and agile, offers excellent suspension performance, and delivers surprisingly strong pulling power at low revs. The combination of a large fuel tank and low fuel consumption makes it an ideal companion for long gravel-road adventures where filling stations are few and far between. The seat height may present a challenge for shorter riders, but otherwise this is an easy-to-ride, confidence-inspiring machine that will appeal to both newcomers and experienced riders alike.
