Honda WN7 wins the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026
The WN7 is Honda’s first electric naked model designed for everyday riding and is based on the concept “Be the Wind”. The motorcycle forms part of Honda’s efforts towards a fossil-free transport system.
Light and powerful
The construction is frameless, with the battery housing taking over the role of the frame, making the motorcycle both light and compact. Despite its electric drivetrain, the WN7 delivers performance on par with a 600cc petrol-powered bike, with torque comparable to that of a 1000cc class machine. This makes it just as at home in city traffic as it is on country roads.
The design that won over the jury
The styling is clean and cohesive, with a powerful silhouette, smooth surfaces, an iconic horizontal headlight, and a black body accented with gold details. The jury describes the WN7 as a motorcycle that blends classic Honda DNA with a clear electric identity, highlighting that it feels authentic rather than contrived.

Honda’s Head of Design, Toshinobu Minami, commented on the award: “We are honoured. This is confirmation that the joy of riding freely – like the wind – can be conveyed even in an electric motorcycle.”
